Saudi Government Scholarship Programs We Support

MEC Study Group helps Saudi students apply to study abroad through the Kingdom's official government scholarship programs. Here are the main programs we support.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program

The Kingdom's flagship overseas scholarship program, administered by the Ministry of Education, sending Saudi students to top universities worldwide in line with Vision 2030. It includes several paths:

• Pioneers Path (Al-Rowad): For students admitted to the world's top 30 universities, across all disciplines, at bachelor's and master's level.
• Research & Development Path: For postgraduate (PhD) students heading to the world's leading research institutions in priority scientific and technical fields.
• Emdad (Provider) Path: For students admitted to the world's top 200 universities in specialisations the labour market needs, at bachelor's and master's level.

Excellence Path (Ministry of Education)

For high-achieving students admitted to approved universities in priority majors — such as international relations, digital media, psychology, and tourism & hospitality. No sponsoring employer required; students apply for admission themselves. Destinations include the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, and Switzerland.

Medical & Health Path (Ministry of Education)

For students pursuing medical and health specialisations at approved institutions abroad — one of the Kingdom's priority fields under Vision 2030.

The Ministry of Culture Scholarship (Cultural Scholarship Program)

The Kingdom's first scholarship program dedicated to arts and culture, funding Saudi students in creative fields — including visual arts, film, music, theatre, fashion, culinary arts, interior design, architecture, and museum management — at leading institutions in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and Switzerland. Covers tuition, living expenses, healthcare, and travel.

Ilhaq (Join the Scholarship) Program

A pathway for Saudi students who begin studying abroad at their own expense and later apply to join the government scholarship. After a period of self-funded study, students who meet the requirements — including a strong GPA and enrolment at a university on the approved top-200 list in an eligible specialisation — can apply through the Ministry of Education to have their scholarship attached, gaining government funding for the remainder of their studies.

Eligibility (general): Open to Saudi students already studying abroad at their own expense, with the Ministry's prior approval to self-fund, good academic standing, an approved university and major, and who meet the Ministry's minimum GPA and completed-credit requirements. Some own-expense fields (such as certain medical, engineering, and scientific specialisations) may be excluded. Contact our team and we'll advise you on your specific eligibility.

No problem — you can still study abroad affordably through MEC's own partner scholarships, offering tuition discounts of up to 50% at selected universities. Every student who applies through us automatically qualifies, with the exact discount based on your grades, chosen university, and destination.
